The Syrian-Tunisian Higher Committee started meetings of the 11th session co-chaired by Syrian Prime Minister Mohamed Naji Otri and his Tunisian counterpart Mohamed Ghannouchi.

He added that Syria under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad devoted great efforts and capacities to close the Arab ranks and enhance Arab solidarity, stressed the importance of building a strong Arab economic bloc to support development projects and achieve self-sufficiency and food security.
Otri said Syria worked to set the basics of security and stability and just and comprehensive peace in the region, calling on the international community to halt Israel settlement projects and attempts to Judaize Jerusalem, and pressuring it to abide by the international legitimacy resolutions and the requirements of peace according to the principle of land-for-peace and Madrid Reference to restore the occupied Syrian Golan and all occupied Arab lands to the line of June 4, 1967.
For his part, Ghannouchi said today's meeting embodies the standing relations between the two countries and the joint will of the two leaders President Bashar al-Assad and President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali to boost those relations and upgrade them to highest level in the interest of the two countries.
Ghannouchi stressed Tunisia's adherence to push the joint Arab action forward and boosting solidarity among the Arab countries and serving the interest of the just causes of the Arab people with the Palestinian cause on top.
He also stressed Tunisia's adherence to support the Palestinian people in their struggle for restoring their legitimate rights in establishing an independent state based on the international legitimacy resolutions and the references of the peace process and the Arab Peace Initiative, including Syria's restoring of the occupied Syrian Golan.
He said that Tunisia affirmed in all regional and international gatherings its rejection of the arrogant Israeli policy and its settlement plots as well as its procedures to judaize Jerusalem, pointing out to his country's solidity with Syria over the latest Israeli threats.
