Arab Journalists Union Tuesday called the United Nation to make pressures on the American occupation forces and the Iraqi government  so as to ensure  tightened  protection measures to journalists against  acts of killings and kidnappings in Iraq.

In a statement issued in Cairo on Tuesday , Secretariat General of the Arab Journalists Union demanded UN to reinforce  its resolutions against  killing of journalists in Iraq , stressing , simultaneously , the need of taking  decisive security procedures by the Iraqi government to this end .

The statement noted that Iraq has become a trap for journalists since the US invasion of Iraq  in 2003 , noting that number of journalists killed in Iraq under the American invasion tolled 215.
